Xenophobia: 6000 may loose their jobs, MTN Nigeria warns

Corporate Service Executive, MTN Nigeria, Wale Goodluck MTN Nigeria on Monday warned that should there be attacks on its facilities, it might be forced to close shop and 99 per cent of its over 6,000 workforce in the country, who are Nigerians, would be thrown into the labour market. It also said that calls for the boycott of its services were unjustified as such an action would affect its support chain, which could cause another 500,000 Nigerians to lose their means of livelihood.

Drama in Ekiti as Fayose's supporters lay siege to Ekiti Assembly

Ayo Fayose Drama ensued again again in Ado Ekiti on Monday as members of the Peoples Democratic Party and supporters of Governor Ayodele Fayose laid siege   to the Ekiti State House of Assembly complex in order to halt the resumption of the 19 All Progressives Congress lawmakers. Fayose had announced in a statewide broadcast on Sunday that the   lawmakers planned to take over the assembly to commence their impeachment proceedings against him. He therefore urged transport unions, market women and workers to rise up and protect the mandate they gave him.

Jonathan is afraid of Boko Haram, says David-West

Tam David-West A former Minister of Petroleum, Prof Tam David-West, has berated President Goodluck Jonathan for failing to address the security situation in the country. David-West said he was convinced that the President was afraid of Boko Haram that was why he (Jonathan) refused to visit the parents of the schoolgirls that were kidnapped in Chibok, Borno State over four months ago. David-West said it was wrong of Jonathan to have invited the parents of the Chibok girls to Abuja instead of going to Chibok to visit them, adding that going to visit them would have given both the parents and Nigerians a psychological boost.

Mission to free 20 abducted girls Military pounds Boko Haram’s cells

Konduga and environs in Borno State have come under aerial attack from the military in the latest round of operation to flush out Boko Haram insurgents from the area. The Defence Headquarters deployed more jets and troops to Konduga in the aftermath of Tuesday’s massacre of about 51 residents of the town by the terrorists.Some other sources said as many as 70 people may have been killed. 20 girls were abducted during the insurgency. The troops were ordered to liberate the abducted women immediately. The United States yesterday asked the Federal Government to investigate the Konduga killings and ensure the safe return of the abductees to their families.

How Pastor, Doctor Robbed Banks

A medical practitioner, Dr Tajudeen (surname withheld)  and Pastor Isaiah (surname withheld) have confessed about how they robbed banks in the last few months  before they were arrested by Operatives of the Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Lagos State Police Command, southwest Nigeria. Dr Tajudeen, Pastor Isaiah and one musician were paraded Thursday in Lagos by the police after their arrest.
